I see Lelouch as an ideal. He is an ideal ubermensch in how he strives to change the world order he deems corrupt. He is an ideal leader as seen in how he can inspire followers (by this I mean the Black Knights). Most of all, he is an ideal pragmatist, who will do anything, even viewing oneself as a mere piece in the game to accomplish his goals, using very efficient methods.
